AERONCA AIRCRAFT CORPORATION:
The Aeronca Aircraft Corporation was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 11, 1928. Aeronca had sold 17,408 planes by the time production terminated in 1951. The Aeronca C-2 monoplane, also known as the "Flying Bathtub," was designed by Jean A. Roche and first flew in 1929. The Scout, a two-seater, was the next important model, and it was followed by the Chief and Super Chief the following year.
